What is Pixel Laser?

Laser skin resurfacing is performed to improve the complexion of wrinkles, blemishes, and poor skin tone, revitalizing your appearance. The Pixel laser delivers anti-aging outcomes by vaporizing the outermost damaged skin layer and promoting enhanced collagen production. During your session, a hand-held device emits small bursts of thermal energy, which effectively resurface the complexion. The process ‘ablates’ or liquifies dead and damaged skin cells in a precise and controlled manner.

Unlike traditional ablative lasers that remove the entire top layer of skin in the treated area, Pixel’s fractional method removes only specific skin zones while maintaining intact skin between the targeted areas. By protecting the skin between laser “hot spots,” the Pixel laser reduces the risk of superficial damage and allows the skin to heal much faster. Treatment with the Pixel laser accelerates collagen production, tightens the pores, and improves overall skin texture. Sessions cause minimal discomfort when compared to other fractional and ablative skin resurfacing solutions. Application of cold compresses and over-the-counter medications such as Tylonel can help mitigate any discomfort. It is very important to follow your procedure with the advised skincare products recommended by our aesthetician.

Who Are the Best Candidates For Skin Resurfacing?

The Pixel laser is suitable for certain skin types and Fitzpatrick levels. Discretion is advised for darker or tanned skin. It is perfect for someone who wants to reduce wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone and texture, and minimize acne scarring, sun damage, or pigmentation issues. Treatment leads to new collagen growth for firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin, making it an excellent intervention for combating early signs of aging.

People with lighter skin – and those who protect their skin from sun exposure after the procedure – tend to experience the best results with Pixel laser treatments. People with darker skin are more likely to benefit from alternate skincare procedures and treatments. Pixel is not suitable for those with Fitzpatrick skin type VI, which includes many people of African and Afro-Caribbean descent.

Before laser skin retexturizing, avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. If you do go out, use plenty of physical sunblock and wear protective clothing over the area that will be treated. What to Expect on the Day of Skin Resurfacing Treatment

Prior to your session, our team will evaluate your problem zones, skin type, and goals, settling on the precise laser settings that will be most advantageous for your safety. A topical numbing agent is applied to the skin to help you remain comfortable and at ease throughout your session. Once you are ready, the numbing agent is removed and you will be fitted with special eye shields. The device will be administered to the treated area and the desired passes determined by the depth of damage and desired results. After treatment and the area is complete, cold compresses are applied to alleviate any discomfort. Post-laser products will be applied and post procedure instructions given.
