However, the technique used to apply the products is just as important as finding the right products for your skin. The correct technique will ensure that the active ingredients from each product have the chance to work directly on skin cells.

Skincare layering refers to applying layers of multiple skincare products in a specific order. Read on for tips on how to layer your skin products correctly and maximize their benefits.

Your morning and night routine should be somewhat different, but most steps are the same. Most specialists recommend cleansing the skin first, followed by toner, serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. Lastly, use high-SPF sunscreen in the morning and retinol and vitamin C products at night.

Use your serums starting from thinnest to thickest. This ensures that lighter, watery serums can penetrate your skin first without having to get through heavier creams. 

Use the same rule for other products as well. Apply lighter formulations before heavier ones. The richer formulas help to keep all the nourishing ingredients sealed in. However, acid-based serums are the exception, as they should be applied before any of the others. 

Always use caution when applying strong, active ingredients. Consult a professional if you’re unsure whether combining them is safe.

For example, using Vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acids at the same time may irritate the skin.

Our Sensitive Skin Cleansing Foam is an extra-gentle cleanser formulated for sensitive skin. This cleanser contains Evodiox™, derived from the Chinese Evodia rutaecarpa plant.

Soothing Hydration Lotion is a 100 percent oil-free moisturizer for combination or oily, and acne-prone skin. This skin care product contains Oligopeptide-10, a new, short-chain peptide, and has a beautiful matte finish.
