What Treatments Are Best for Younger-Looking Eyes?
Treatments for younger-looking eyes focus on improving the damage done by stress, aging, smoking, and sun exposure. The thin and fragile skin around the eyes is particularly vulnerable to such factors.
Although makeup and topical products can help to some extent, cosmetic treatments will be a more effective option if you’re looking to fix more severe symptoms of aging or skin damage.
Patients consulting Dr. Greco for cosmetic procedures for the eyes may be looking to resolve eyelid droopiness, wrinkles, dark circles, or sunken eyes. However, each patient has individual needs based on the state of their skin, age, and aesthetic goals.
Cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is one way of refreshing your face and taking years off of your appearance. In addition to blepharoplasty, Dr. Greco also provides other treatments for the eye area. This includes treatments such as BOTOX®, dermal fillers, and microneedling.
Treatment for the Eye Area
Baggy, hooded eye areas may make you look tired, angry, and old before your time. Cosmetic procedures you can consider to correct this can include any of the following options.
During eyelid surgery, excess tissue around the eyes is trimmed away, and the remaining tissue is tightened to correct sagging, drooping eyelids. The surgery also helps improve any facial asymmetry and provides a lift for heavy eyelids.
The procedure may be used on the lower or upper eyelid as needed.
Structural Fat Grafting
Structural fat grafting can provide longer-lasting, natural-looking results than other popular facial rejuvenation options. Although chemical peels are fairly popular options for facial rejuvenation, they only work for mild to moderate cases of wrinkles and volume loss.
The under area or the region around the eye socket can benefit from fat grafts. Fat grafts help make your eyes look rejuvenated by restoring volume to these areas.
Laser Skin Rejuventation
Laser skin rejuvenation treatments can be used to safely remove wrinkles on the face, including those around the eyes. The fractional CO2 laser treatment works very effectively for eyelid lift procedures.
If you are considering minimally invasive procedures to achieve younger-looking eyes, laser treatment might work for you. Get in touch with Greco MD to find out the best option for you.
For problems such as crow’s feet, elevens, and forehead lines, BOTOX® is considered the gold standard in treatment options. It works by relaxing wrinkle-revealing muscles.
Another treatment for the eye area is microneedling. The procedure is designed to improve overall skin quality from the inside out. It can show dramatic improvement in areas with dark patches, dryness, fine lines or wrinkles, and dullness.
The results of microneedling can be seen in a gradual improvement of your skin. It grows clearer and develops a softer, more even texture. Although tiny needles puncture microscopic channels into the skin to spark collagen regeneration, microneedling is gentle enough for the thin skin around the eyes.
Treatment for the Eyebrows
The eyebrows are a fairly noticeable feature of your face used to communicate emotions and frame your eyes. Sagging eyebrows can, therefore, have an impact on the rest of our facial features.
Lax eyebrows can send the wrong message, making you appear older, constantly tired, or angry. On the other hand, lifted eyebrows make a person look alert, awake, bright, and friendly.
Achieving younger-looking eyes can include a cosmetic procedure to lift the eyebrows.
Brow Lift Surgery
Brow lift surgery gives patients a more naturally refreshed appearance by correcting any changes to the eyes and forehead. The procedure may involve the removal of excess skin and always entails the repositioning of underlying tissues to reduce the furrows and sagging.
It is followed by a short recovery period that allows swelling and bruising to resolve. The results of a brow lift are long-lasting, giving the patient an improved appearance for years.
A forehead lift procedure can smoothen the lines in the forehead, placing the eyebrows on more youthful contours.
There are two kinds of forehead lifts. The first is a minimally invasive endoscopic procedure, resulting in less bruising and swelling. The procedure involves small incisions and works well for patients with low brows and a low or normal hairline.
The second type is called the trichophytic forehead lift, a more invasive procedure. It is better suited for patients with a high forehead and for those who would benefit from a hairline advancement. This procedure has a longer recovery period.
BOTOX® Brow Lift
If you require or prefer a less invasive option, a BOTOX® brow lift may be a good choice. This non-surgical injectable procedure simply elevates the eyebrows and smooths the skin on the outside by relaxing key facial muscles.
There is little to no downtime, side effects are minimal, and results last for three to four months on average. However, BOTOX® cannot address problems of sagging skin.
